The Outer Battery is one of the oldest communities in St. John's, it is the one place in St.John's harbour where you can still see evidence of Newfoundland's inshore fishing heritage. The popular North Head walking trail passes through the Outer Battery, thousands of people walk the trail every year, enjoying the scenic surroundings of the fishing premises and colorful houses. Outer Battery residents will tell you that the fishing wharves and twine stores are the heart and soul of our community.
